Week 27

Baby Mussetter is still about the size of an eggplant!  He weighs about 2 pounds and is about 14 1/2 inches long with his legs extended.  His lungs are going through major developments, and he is now able to practice inhaling and exhaling (according to thebump.com).
We start our childbirth classes this coming Wednesday (November 3rd).  I am starting to get nervous about going into labor!  I am also hoping that Jason won't pass out in the delivery room!  I have a doctor's appointment on Friday for my glucose tolerance test.  We are also counting down the days until our 3D/4D ultrasound, on November 13th.  I cannot wait to see how BBM has grown and changed!

And speaking of BBM (Baby Boy Mussetter) - or TLG (The Little Guy), we are excited to announce that he HAS A NAME:

Week 26

Baby Mussetter is still about the size of an eggplant. He weighs about 1.7 pounds as his total length is about 14 inches!  His eyes are forming and soon he will be able to practice blinking (according to thebump.com).
We have had a pretty uneventful week, with the exception of some Braxton Hick's contractions on Tuesday.  I was having contractions about every 15 minutes so I thought it was best to call the doctor's office.  The nurse said that I needed to go home and lay down and drink A LOT of water.  Luckily the rest and water worked, and I didn't have to go into the doctor's office.  I know that I am not drinking enough water (I never have been), but I am trying to drink a lot more!

I bought BBM a Wubbanub, which is a pacifer with a stuffed animal toy attached to it.  It is the cutest thing!  And, I can't wait for BBM to be able to use it!  There are a few different animals to choose from, but I really liked the long horn bull:

Week 25

Baby Mussetter is now the size of an eggplant!  He is learning to distinguish right side up from upside down.  And my uterus is now the size of a basketball (according to thebump.com).  His hands are now fully developed, complete with miniature fingernails and the ability to curl his fingers into a tiny fist (according to the Mayo Clinic's Guide to a Healthy Pregnacy).
I had an appointment with Dr. Miller on Monday.  He measured my belly and said that I was measuring right where I should be.  So, I guess BBM is growing just fine, even though I have only gained about 1 pound!  Although, I am sure I will gain PLENTY of weight in the remaining weeks!  I have been having some numbness and tingling in my feet and hands lately.  Dr. Miller said that it is probably swelling around my nerves.  Oh joy!  I have also been having horrible leg cramps during the night that cause me to wake up screaming in pain.  I told Jason that I couldn't believe that he was able to sleep through my screaming.  He finally admitted the other day that I didn't know how hard it was for him to pretend that he was asleep while I was up with my leg cramps.  HaHa!

I go back in 3 weeks for my glucose tolerance test.  I am NOT looking forward to drinking the sugary orange drink.  Dr. Miller just warned me to not eat a lot of carbs before my appointment because it would probably cause me to fail the test.

Show Us Your Life - Kitchen

It's that time again for another stop along the Home Tours with Kelly from Kelly's Korner.  This week we continue the tour with our kitchens.  I spend A LOT of time in our kitchen!  Mainly because we don't have a dishwasher and all of the dishes have to be washed by hand *gasp*!  I enjoy cooking, but I just wish I wasn't so rushed when I get home from work so that I could enjoy it more!

Week 24

Baby Mussetter is still about the size of a papaya!  His skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on.  And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, his newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow (according to thebump.com).
Once again, this week has been pretty uneventful.  BBM continues to be very active and enjoys moving and kicking.  I just love feeling his sweet little kicks!!  I have noticed that he tends to be "sleeping" throughout the day and usually "wakes up" about the time I get home from work.  He is VERY active late in the evenings and early in the mornings.  Hopefully he won't continue this pattern after he is born!  I have a doctor's appointment on Monday with Dr. Miller, where apparently I will get instructions for the (much dreaded) glucose tolerance test.  Oh joy!

Week 23

Baby Mussetter is still about the size of a papaya.  His little face is fully formed, minus the baby fat, of course (according to thebump.com).
There really haven't been a lot of things going on this week!  I am very anxious to get BBM's room ready!  I bought new crib bedding (see a previous post) and got that put on the crib.  I am very pleased with how well the crib bedding matches with what we have on the bunk beds.  I would also really like to get the room painted soon, but I am going to need some help with that one!

On a random note, it appears that thanks to increased blood flow (gotta love pregnancy) I am getting random bruises.  I have a huge bruise that is about 4-6 inches long that runs down the back of my calf.  I also have bruises on my arms.  It looks like I got beat up!  HaHa!
