Mountain Challenge II

After about a 5 week break, Damien was back to racing on Sunday at the Mountain Challenge II with NCHSA.  Damien had raced at this track before and was excited about going back again.  However, this time they reversed the direction they went on the track and Damien didn't like it as much.

Damien completed 9 laps during the 45 minute race. 

He ended up finishing in 11th place out of 11.  We are very proud of him for trying his best and finishing the race.

Brayden loves watching Damien ride his dirtbike.  I bet we have a future rider on our hands! :)



Davis Mountain Race

On Sunday, Damien competed in another harescramble race with NCHSA.  This weekend the race was at Davis Mountain which is in Taylorsville, NC.  This was the first time that the NCHSA had held an event at Davis Mountain. 

Brayden and I waited on the "sidelines" for the race to start.

While we waited on the race to start, Brayden decided to chew on his stroller.  Silly boy!

Unfortunately, it had rained quite a bit during the week, so the track was pretty slick and muddy.  There were a few people who wrecked, including Damien's racing buddy, Zachary.

Damien completed 3 laps during the 45 minute race.  He ended up finishing 9th out of 11 in his division. We were very proud of him for trying his best!!!

Damien gets a little break from racing until August 28th, when we head back to Wilkesboro, NC for the Mountain Challenge II.

Denver Classic Race

On Sunday, Damien competed in another harescramble race with NCHSA.  This race was only about 30 minutes away, in Denver, NC.  We took Jason's truck to this race, since it wasn't so far away.

My Dad and Tammy came to watch Damien race too.  Brayden loves to wear PawPaw's hat and sunglasses!!

Brayden also helped us carry around our folding chairs, since we got tired of holding them.

Damien did really well at the start of the race - he came off the starting line in 3rd place.

Unfortunately, I didn't get any pictures of Damien during the race because he only made 3 laps, due to a slick track and getting stuck a couple of times. 

We watched the race from in the woods, along the trail, since it was a lot cooler than being out in the sun.

Damien ended up finishing 13th out of 15 in his division.  We were very proud of him for completing the race and trying his best!!! 

He was definitely worn out when the race was over! 

Devil's Ridge Race

On Sunday, Damien raced in another harescramble race with NCHSA.  This race was at Devil's Ridge Motocross in Sanford, NC.  We had to leave the house at 6am, since it would take us 2 and a half hours to get there.  So, needless to say, we were all pretty tired.  Luckily Damien was able to sneak in a nap!

Damien was very excited that his Mom, his two little brothers, and his Grandma got to come and watch him race.  Damien's Grandma took a lot of pictures of Damien racing and she also got some cute pictures of Brayden.

This harescramble race was a little different from the other races that Damien has been in because there was also a little motorcross section of the track.  The track went through the woods and then onto a motorcross track.

Damien ended up completing 3 laps during the 45 minute race. He placed 6th out of 7 in his division. We were very proud of him!!



Brushy Mountain Race

On Sunday, Damien raced in his second harescramble race with NCHSA.  The race was at Brushy Mountain Motor Sports Park in Taylorsville.

My Dad and Tammy came to watch the race.  They made it just in time to see the race start.

The track went a mile and a half through the woods.  Damien ended up completing 8 laps during the 45 minute race.  He placed 8th out of 10 in his division. We were very proud of him!!

We all watched the race from in the woods because it was SO hot outside.  Brayden enjoyed being in the shade!

I forgot Brayden's hat, but luckily PawPaw had his Corvette hat that Brayden could wear.

Damien was VERY tired and grumpy because he didn't go to bed until late on Saturday night. I think he might have learned a lesson because he was completely EXHAUSTED by the time the race was over.  

Damien was so tired that Jason had to put the dirt bike back in the truck and take Damien's boots off. HaHa!

Brayden loved hanging out with Tammy while we got everything loaded up to go home.

PawPaw thought that Brayden might like to "drive" a dirt bike like his big brother.

 

Damien was so tired that he barely made it to the car without falling asleep!!  He slept for most of the drive home.

As a matter of fact, we were ALL pretty tired after the race, even Brayden!
